ABOUT AWAKEN Awaken launched from the ministry of Catalyst, a united gathering of local youth ministries in the southside of Glasgow, in 2010.

The group consists of 8 people, including two drum kits, cello, violin and guitars. Less of a band, they are a team of musicians who wish to worship God and lead others into an encounter with Him. This reaches from youth events, Church outreaches to charity events in clubs and pubs. The band have gathered from a variety of backgrounds including Church of Scotland, Baptist, Catholic and Independent Churches with the gospel of Jesus bringing them together.

Driven by the grace of God, they desire to see the globe unite in worship and to see the Kingdom come.

Awaken released their debut EP, ?Your Love Is? in March 2011.

MISSION VISION • To see people come to worship God on the basis of grace, not of their works or efforts
• To see a generation of worshippers rise up in Scotland and across the globe who are consumed by the grace of God and live in response to this, a generation who know the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in His fullness
• To see the church unite across denominations, practice, differences in the cause of the Kingdom;
• To live out in the power of God, the healing of spiritual, emotional and physical symptoms of the fall
• To be an agent in our nation for large worship gatherings, to unite worshippers, leaders, musicians and congregations together
• To bring a voice for today, not just an echo of the past
• To come alongside local Churches and join with them in worship, to partner with ministries for the glory of God
• To nurture and express a distinctly Scottish sound of worship music in Scotland and to produce worship music that God loves, that people love to bring to God and that we love to bring to people who don?t yet know Him

CORE VALUES We are a team of worshipers first and foremost, and consequently, a team of lead worshipers.

We use our language to encourage one another and to build a culture of encouragement. (Ephesians 4 v 29)

We are transforming the root of people in order to transform their behaviour. (John 8 v 1-11)

We aim to give people a platform as opposed to filling a platform with people. (1 Corinthians 12)

We seek to be the best we can because we believe that God is the best. The best creator, designer and arranger. Our source of value as people is external to what we do, therefore we are free to be the best we can be without the weight of perfectionism. We do not strive for perfection, we receive His perfection and this frees us to do our best in Him. (Heb 10:14, Romans 5)

We put the purpose over the task. (Hosea 6 v 6, Galatians 4 v 18)

We look to build on the good things God has given us instead of building on negative comparisons. We are inspired by looking at others greater than ourselves and base our identity on the finished work of Jesus. (Eph 1:15-22)

We aim to communicate the gospel in the most effective way possible. In our communication, we understand that words have different meanings across different cultures and spectrums of faith. (1 Corinthians 9:19)

We believe God wants to heal people: physically, spiritually, emotionally, mind and soul. Here and now and in the age to come. (Isaiah 53v5)
